Engineering Overview
The Packed Bed Clarifier is custom designed to suit your application requirements. It removes light solids from large volume flows, so the liquid that reaches your filters is much cleaner.
The principle is simple. A floc blanket is a concentrated, suspended bed of flocculated particles, with a relatively clear layer of liquid above it. As the liquid rises through the blanket, fine particles are caught in it. In a typical mining design, large flocs settle to the bottom and are discharged, while any remaining fine solids are carried up through a bed of fine beads. The clarified liquid can then go to sand filters for final polishing.
